Campers

After five fantastic camps from 2007 to 2011, MIT CK is gearing up for the summer of 2012!

Camp Kesem 2012 will be held from August 19 through 24, and will be held at Camp Merrowvista in Tuftonboro, New Hampshire again. We are looking for more campers, counselors, and volunteers to join us.
This year, we hope to expand further our number of campers while continuing to retain our magical 2 to 1 camper to counselor ratio. We look forward to seeing new campers and counselors experience Kesem magic.

The average cost to send a child to camp is $500, but fortunately, with the help of donors and money raised by Kesem MIT students, camp is completely free! Our only request is that you take the time to fill out a simple application so that we can get to know your son or daughter before their arrival. Applications are accepted on a first come, first serve basis. MIT Camp Kesem is open to children ages six to eighteen with a parent who has or has had cancer. Camp Kesem is open to children regardless of race, religion, color, national origin, or financial status.

We are just as thrilled to see all of last year's campers as we are to meet and connect with many new campers!

Every year we have large number of campers drop out right before camp is set to begin. This makes organizing camp very difficult, and is unfair to those families on our waiting list. To try to limit the number of these last-minute drop outs we are implementing a credit card hold. When you apply we are now requesting that you provide us with your credit card information. Your card will not be charged at this time. If your application is accepted but your child can no longer attend camp, you have until August 1st, 2010 to let us know before a fee is charged. If you inform us after August 1st that your child will not be attending camp (or don't let us know), a $30 fee will be charged to your card. This money will become a donation to Camp Kesem.

There are two ways to apply to camp:


  • Mail application
    • Print out the application, filling out by hand and mailing us the application
    • Application download: Mail Application

  • Partially digital application
    • Fill out the word document application and email us this portion
    • Print and fill out the supplementary forms and mail it to us
    • Application download: Email Application, Mail-in Portion

    The application deadline is April 30th

     




    A confirmation email will be sent to the supplied email address within a week of receiving the application.
    Accepted camper famlies will be notified starting in March 2012.
