AmeriCorps VISTA is dedicated to eliminating poverty by helping individuals and low-income neighborhoods make positive changes for themselves. Members serve full-time for a year in organizations and agencies throughout the country, working to fight illiteracy, create businesses, increase housing opportunities and much more. VISTA members leave behind lasting solutions to some of our countrie's toughest problems. Members who complete a term of service are eligible to receive either an AmeriCorps Education Award of $5,350.00 or an end-of-service stipend. Teach For America recruits outstanding recent college graduates from all backgrounds and career interests to commit to teach for two years in a low-income community in one of 35 regions around the country.
