Meet the Team

Brooke 'Sparkle' Porter: I'm excited for this year because I’ve personally experienced the healing magic of Camp Kesem. So, I want as many other kids dealing with a parent’s cancer as possible to have the chance to be a part of this incredible family!

Yesha 'Cabbage' Desai: My favorite memory of camp was the talent show this past year when my graduating camper from two years ago did a camp wide act to thank everyone for his Kesem experience.

Tony 'Bump' Dagher: My favorite Kesem memory is sprinting to and from the pond every time a camper would catch a fish to make sure they got pictures of themselves with their fish!

Ryan 'Tadpole' Fader: My favorite Kesem memory is getting doused in water and covered in flour at messy games. The kids LOVED it and seeing them smile made the hour long shower to get the flour out of my hair worth it.

Bryn 'Whistle' Wilson: My favorite memory is enjoying all of the dinner dance parties during camp. The campers taught me so many fun new dances, and I even performed one of the new dances with fellow counselors and a camper during the talent show.

Matthew 'Pace' Mosca: I'm excited to plan Make the Magic and have one more amazing year as a counselor at Kesem!

Emine 'Net' Arcasoy: My favorite Kesem memory is from when I performed back-up for a 6-9 year old camper at lunch as she sang her favorite Taylor Swift song, then saw the happiest, most magical smile on her face when she received a full standing ovation from everybody.

Anna 'Blank' Go: My favorite Kesem memory was during a rainy day: we were all stuck inside, and to pass the time the entire camp had a "Hey Burrito" competition. We sang and cheered back and forth for at least 20 minutes!

Jessa 'Pretzel' Bock: My favorite Kesem memory is when the camper I had my first year in Kesem remembered that I really loved the song "Riptide", and during my third Summer, she got up in front of the entire camp during the Talent Show and serenaded me with the song.

Noey 'Shout' Boldizsar: My favorite memory is the Talent Show from this past summer! It was incredible to witness the support and love that Kesem fosters all in one night.

Ethan 'Toes' Astrachan: My favorite Kesem memory was from this year at empowerment. I saw one of the counselors get emotional afterwards, and saw their campers go up to them and console them. It just reinforced to me how strong and inspiring all of the Kesem campers are.

Alex 'Tree' Wilson: My favorite Kesem memory came last year, when we starting referring to ourselves in 10-11 as "The Dawg Pound" and made a special cheer that all of the campers would go nuts for. Eventually, the entire camp was welcomed into the Dawg Pound.

Sonia 'Narwhal' Lau: One of my favorite Kesem memories happened after a long day of rain. Everyone was a little tired at dinner, but all of a sudden, some counselors grabbed some campers and started a congo line! Eventually the WHOLE camp joined and we had such a blast!
