Tyler “Seaweed” Goldberger: HEYY CAMP KESEM!! I’m Seaweed, and this is my FOURTH year at Camp Kesem Duke! I am a senior from Raleigh, North Carolina, and I have loved being part of such a special and magical community since my first days at Duke! I love to read, run, and fold laundry — I even have a Folding Laundry playlist! I love Kesem because everyone is accepted for who they are!!! I am so lucky to feel the Kesem Magic wherever I go. CK LOVE <3

Jason “Snap” Kim: I’m a part of the 2020 graduating class, studying biology with minors in psych. and chemistry. I am from Duluth, GA and have lived in the same house my whole life. I love that, within the Kesem family, there is nothing but joy and care that is shared among the counselors and campers. Everyone wants everyone else to be the best they can be and to be the happiest they can be. These kids really bring the best out of you.

Dominic “Pinecone” Tanzillo: Hey Camp Kesem!!! I’m a junior originally from California’s Bay Area. Thankfully, I found Camp Kesem my freshman year and immediately fell in love with the cause and my fellow counselors. Meeting the kids at camp is always humbling to see their resilience and strength. I always love Camp Kesem’s first day where counselors (especially new ones) have to adjust to doing challenges to keep the kids engaged and help set the tone for the rest of the week.

Christian “Shell” Tanner: Hi! My name is Shell and I am a senior from Rye, NY. I am forever grateful that I found the fun and inclusive community that is Camp Kesem in my Sophomore year. The energy and excitement of everyone involved provides such a constant motivating force to help those children afflicted by a parent’s cancer. It’s through this energy that Camp Kesem creates such a magical environment for the campers and counselors alike and why I am so honored to be a part of it!

Matthew “Clover” O’Boyle: Hi there! I’m Clover, a Junior from Bangor, Ireland (hence the camp name!) I love the community that Kesem builds among campers and counselors alike and experiencing Kesem magic every year!

Sujata “Toro” Kishnani: I’m a senior and I live 10 minutes away from Duke! I joined Kesem because summer camp was the best part of my childhood. It gave me my best friends and memories, from when we were eight to being counselors and serving as staff. I joined Kesem when I first heard about it from Scatter, the director two years ago. It has been the most meaningful part of my Duke experience, and I couldn’t be more grateful for it. The campers and counselors have touched my life, and I look forward to camp all year.
