Ally “Penny” Barbaro: Heyooo! My name is Penny and this is my SECOND year as Co-Director of CKGW! I’m a senior from New York studying geography and international affairs, but I spend most of time thinking about and planning camp! Camp Kesem is my favorite thing in the whole world and I look forward to camp every day of the year. My favorite part of camp is of course messy games, but I also LOVE the talent show! Counting down the days until camp 2019!!!

Jenna “NASA” Campolieto: HEY HEY HEY!!!!! I’m SUPER stoked to be on the team that will make this year’s camp better than ever. You can find me makin fun playlists with my INCREDIBLE (really incredible) co-director Penny or practicing my smores techniques on my days off, feeling sentimental. Camp is the best part of every year and I feel really really lucky that I get to work with the amazing campers and amazing counselors ALLLLLLL YEAR. LONG LIVE CKGW!

Taylor “Quesadilla” Dumaine: Hiya!!! I’m Taylor, Quesadilla, or Dilla!!! I am so excited to be a PR Coordinator this year with my fellow PRlz PBS!! This will be my third year at camp and I could literally not be more excited. I love camp with all my heart and just can’t get enough.

Frances “PBS” Cooke: What’s up Kesem Family!! My name is PBS, like the TV station broadcasting beloved characters like Elmo. This past summer was my first as a counselor for CKGW (RED UNIT BEST UNIT) and I’m so excited for my first year as PR/Marketing with the Quesadilla. If I’m not coming up with really bad puns for CKGW’s social media, you can find me singing in my acappella group, eating tacos, or saying hello to every dog I encounter on the street. I’m so excited for another magical summer!

Jake “Dallas” Mercier: Hey y’all!! My name is Dallas and I can’t wait to start this year as part of the development team with Papaya! This will be my first year, so I’m not sure what to expect, but I am along for the ride! If only camp can be as cool as Camp Rock?! From what I heard, it sounds even better. You can probably find me watching movies (I love romantic comedies, don’t @ me), eating mexican food, or taking a great nap. I can’t wait to be apart of such an awesome team, and to have a great year!!

Jackie “Papaya” Capuano: Hello Kesem Family! My name is Papaya and this is my second time as a co-Development Coordinator for CKGW! I’m super excited to FUNdraise all that money money money for Kesem this year! I’ve also been a counselor for the past two years & I’m so excited to see all the returners and new kiddos at camp this summer! When I’m not at Kesem I’m working towards becoming a doctor. My favorite part of camp is MESSY GAMES and my favorite camp song is a coin toss between HI MY NAME IS JOE and HEY BURRITO!

Annabelle “Kween” Pham: YAS Kween is me! I’m beyond excited to be one of the Share the Magic Coordinators for CKGW this year! This will be my second time running this truly ~magical~ event as we aim to beat last year’s record of raising $14,000 in one night! This will also be my fourth year returning to camp (woot woot!) and I’m super pumped to go back. S’mores, songs, smiles, and summer nights – I’m ready for it all! Can’t wait to see your gorgeous beautiful faces at Share the Magic 2k19 and at camp!

Brian “Indiana Jones” Andersen: Hello! I’m Indiana Jones and I’ll to be organizing Share the Magic this year with mah girl Kween! We’re planning a party so great we’ll all have to take one big nap until camp. This will be my first year at camp, and I can’t even begin to put into words how INCREDIBLY excited I am to be part of the family and get my magic on with all of you. I love adventures, hiking, running, soccer, and am ALWAYS down to talk about food…or just eat food. We hope you’re excited and staying super magical!

Annmarie “Almond Joy” Popjoy: Hey guys! My name is Almond Joy and I can’t wait to be Co-Coordinator of Operations this year. I am a sophomore at GW studying International Affairs and Anthropology. My favorite memory from camp last year was messy games and I can’t wait to plan more fun activities. My co-directors and I want to make camp more beautiful and magical than ever. SEE YOU THERE <3

Liam “McDouble” McCaffery: Hey everyone!! I’m McDouble and I’m so excited to be one of the Operations Coordinators along with Scrunchie and Almond Joy! Rob “Balto” Mathern: HI EVERYONE!! My name is Balto and I can not tell you enough how excited I am to be a part of CKGW Eboard! This is gonna be my second year of camp and I can’t wait for summer already! My P.I.C. Sketchers and I are gonna crush it in Community and make sure we bring everyone together and get everyone excited about camp!! Favorite memory about camp HAS to be listening to the moose song 7 times every meal….. Anyways I’m too excited for this year, but deuces for now fam! Can’t wait for reunions!

Lani “Sketcher” Chavin: HELLO! My name is Sketcher and I could not be more excited to be CKGW’s Community Coordinator this year! I love spending time with the campers while singing camp songs and making s’mores and all the other amazing activities! Chandler “Cheetoh” Metcalf: HIYA homies! My name is Chandler, best known as Cheetoh, & I am beyond words excited to be 1 of 3 Family Outreach Coordinators for CKGW this year! Aside from being the biggest fan alive of my 2 AMAZING Cos, Sloth & Fajita, I spend a lot of my free time practicing my swimming skills so I might finally win Marco Polo, eating too much cheese, & unapologetically singing along to the Camp Rock soundtrack. I’m counting down the days until camp & am psyched for an incredibly rad year of Kesem Magic!

Annika “Sloth” Holkeboer: Hey Camp Kesem!! My name is Sloth and it is my fourth year in Camp and I could not be more thrilled for this year of camp and to be a part of the lovely Family Outreach Trio, alongside Cheetoh and Fajita!! Camp Kesem is my favorite thing in the entire world and I am counting down the days until the next messy games!! Anna “Alfredo” Hall: Hi Kesem!!! My name is Alfredo and I am SO stoked to be the treasurer this year! I am a freshman at GW so this is my first year to be involved with camp, but I am beyond excited to work with everyone on the E-board to make CK 2018 the BEST EVER!!!! Jenna “Maple” Bresge: HELLO CK FAMILY! My name is Maple and I am BEYOND excited to the be Volunteer Coordinator for CKGW this year. All I ever want to do is talk about Camp Kesem, and all the magic it has brought to my life and the lives of so many others. I am so happy to have the COOLEST and TALLEST co in the world, JEFE! How Kesem National Supports This Chapter

Kesem’s national staff of over 30 professionals is involved in all aspects of establishing and supporting each of our 100+ chapters nationwide as well as the training and oversight of all college student leaders. Our leadership program has been developed over the last 17 years and, while both rigorous and demanding, is focused on providing the highest level of support, service and safety for the children who participate in our programs.

The Kesem Program Director for this chapter (see below) is involved in all aspects of camp and our additional services. While your local student leaders are your primary contact for questions, you are also welcome and encouraged to contact their Program Director with other specific questions.

Zach joined the Camp Kesem National staff in 2017 as a Regional Program Director. Before doing so, he served as Co-Director at the University of Richmond, where he graduated in 2017 with a B.A. in Environmental Studies. Originally from Boston, Massachusetts, Zach now resides in Washington, D.C.

Kesem's flagship program operates over 100 free summer camps in 40 states for children ages 6 to 18 who have been impacted by a parent's cancer.
