Luke “T-Bone” Sanchez: Hey everybody! My name is Luke Sanchez, camp name T-Bone, and I am presently two years into my pursuits of a bachelors of science in Biology here at New Mexico State University! I do Kesem because I believe by building a community based in love and support for the children of today, we are actively advocating for a better tomorrow. Kesem is truly magical and I could only hope the impact it has on the kiddos who participate translates to a happy future filled with love.
Jewell “Cruiser” Robideau: Hello! My name is Jewell Robideau. My camp name is Cruiser. I chose to be a part of Camp Kesem because I have seen first hand the kind of magic that camp can bring to kids, especially kids who don’t always have the luxury of acting like a kid. I want to provide this opportunity to as many children as I can. It is truly a beautiful thing and I am honored to be a part of it.
Hello my name is Ethan Sullivan and my camp name is Alpine! I am a freshman at New Mexico State and am studying communication. I choose to be involved with Camp Kesem because both my parents suffered through cancer and I want to give other kids who are going through something similar a life changing experience, like ewhat I received through my involvement with Camp Kesem throughout the years.
Hey I’m Zucchini! This is my second year studying creative writing, I love to paint and be outside! I am so excited to be a part of camp kesem and to have the opportunity to help make the magic happen for some incredible kids.
Alondra “Snorlax” Ulloa: I am Alondra Ulloa. My camp name is Snorlax, I joined Camp Kesem because I know how hard it is for a family to deal with Cancer and being able to share the magic of camp with kids when they are going through this difficult moment is always been a dream of mine. There is nothing better than seeing a kid smile.
Isabella M “Jelly Belly” Lucero: I’m 19 and attend New Mexico State University and I’m majoring in Animal Science and minoring in Companion Animals. I would like to be a nutritionist on a ranch or train service dogs. I was in 4-H for about 8 years showing animals, sewing and on the shooting team. Kesem holds a big spot in my heart and I would like to continue to be apart of Kesem for as long as I can.
Lucas “Ninetails” Medina: I am Lucas Medina. My Camp Kesem name is Ninetails. This is my second year as operations coordinator. I Kesem for the campers, to let the kids just be kids again. To see the smiles and laughing bright young faces of the future makes me really happy to know that I did my Kesem job. I want to help these strong young adults forget about cancer through Camp Kesem. I know I am going to camp until there is a cure.
Cameron “Zia” Vallejos: Hi! I’m Cameron Vallejos, camp name Zia, and I’m a sophomore double majoring in Elementary Education and English at NMSU! This is my first year with Kesem, and I joined because not only do I absolutely love working with kids but I also have seen the effects cancer has on families, and I want to do my absolute best to alleviate as much of that as possible, as well as provide a strong support system through Camp Kesem! The work we’re doing is so important, and I can’t wait to see it in action!
Ethan “Alpine” Sullivan: Hey everybody my name is Ethan Sullivan (Camp name: Alpine). I am a sophomore and am studying communication. This year I will be serving as the outreach coordinator for the team! I Kesem because I want to give back to families the same level of love and support that I have received throughout my years of being apart of the organization.
Ethan “Gibson” Urquidez: Hello! My name is Ethan, and my camp name is Gibson. I chose to be involved in Camp Kesem because it seemed like a great opportunity to give back to the community! This is my first year with Camp Kesem, and despite having not yet gone to a camp, I’ve seen first-hand what it does for the families and for the people who are involved in it. I’m so happy to be a part of what we do, and I’m excited to put my efforts into making camp great! :)
Hi there! My name is Rawan, and my camp name is . I’m currently majoring in Genetics, and I plan on getting a minor in biochemistry. After obtaining my bachelor’s degree, I plan on attending medical school and acquire a medical and PhD, and become an oncologist.
Alex “Carter” Apodaca: My name is Alex Apodaca and my camp name is Carter! I choose to be a part of camp kesem to give back to my community and be part of something bigger than myself. My mom was diagnosed with breast cancer when I was growing up and I want to be able to give kids a chance to develop a community where they have not only a support system but also an additional family. Camp is a week where the kids can have fun and realize that they aren’t alone and will help spread that kesem magic!
Alex “Tofu” Johnson: I’m Tofu and I got involved in Camp Kesem because I needed a family to be apart of on campus and T-bone invited me to become part of Camp Kesem so I can be apart of a family, and that’s exactly what it’s become. Camp Kesem is my family and on top of gaining a family I get to extend that familial love and bond to kids who really need the love and support.
Stephanie “Sunny” Schmidt: I am a sophomore here at NMSU! My goal is to graduate with a Bachelor’s degree in Social work. I want to work with kids and help make the environment they live in into a better one. I think that Camp Kesem does an amazing job at this! I love volunteering for Kesem because we truly are one big family at NMSU. I am excited to see how much our chapter grows this year, and to see all the new lives we can touch at camp!
