Olivia “Mango” Di Santo: My name is Mango, and I am a third year Mechanical Engineering/Bioengineering major at San Diego State. Three fun facts about me are that I ride a unicycle, I am surprisingly good at shooting backwards trick shots in basketball, and I love anything and everything Kesem. I’m beyond excited to start this new chapter of Camp Kesem to spread the magic even more in the San Diego area. I genuinely cannot wait to meet all of our campers and dance carelessly all week long at camp!
Tyler “Dibs” Leptich: My name is Dibs, and I’m a 2nd year Mechanical Engineering major at SDSU. I have gone to camp for six years, and I am absolutely in LOVE with Camp Kesem! I really like listening to Hip Hop, driving fast cars, and camping. I absolutely can’t wait to see all of the amazing things that are to come this year in Camp Kesem’s first year at SDSU, but I must admit that I’m most looking forward to singing camp songs and hearing all of the amazing stories that people have to tell at camp this summer!
Amy “Twix” Moussa: My name is Twix, and I am a third year Business Administration and Marketing major at San Diego State University. A couple fun facts about me are I really enjoy photography and videography, listening to music, and playing basketball. I love anything outdoors and learning about people and their backgrounds. I am super excited to start this new journey with Kesem and am truly looking forward to meeting all of the campers. I truly cannot wait for all the new memories and all the new experiences!
Jada “Churro” Claiborne: Hi everyone! My name is Churro, and I am so hyped to be an AMP Coordinator for Camp Kesem! I am a third year Business Marketing major at San Diego State. When I am not studying you will find me giving tours around campus, eating brunch, binge watching a show on Netflix, hiking, or hanging out with friends. I love everything about Camp Kesem and am so excited for its first year here at SDSU. I am already counting down the days until camp and cannot wait to meet all of our campers!
Grace “Righty” McCoy: My name is Righty, and I’m a third year Communication student at San Diego State. In addition to Camp Kesem, I’m also involved in Greek life and Beach Volleyball here at state. I love finding new music and podcasts to listen to, working out, and going to the beach in my spare time. Although this is my first year involved with Camp Kesem, I’m beyond excited for what this experience will bring! I can’t wait to get this year started and I’m looking forward to meeting all of our new campers!
Addie “Maui” Buencamino: My name is Maui, and I am a 3rd year Child and Family Development major at San Diego State University. Some of my favorite things are music, dancing, food, and dogs! I cannot wait to meet some campers who share the same interests as me along with ones who will introduce me to so many awesome new things. While Camp Kesem is new to me, I still am so thrilled to be a part of its budding chapter in San Diego and excitedly await all of the fun and camp love that is to come my way!
Sophie “Bubbles” Chance: My name is Bubbles, and I am a third year Electrical Engineering student at San Diego State. A few fun facts about me are that my middle name is Sunshine, I love to explore, try new things and build stuff! Going to Camp Kesem was my favorite part of my summer, and I am so happy to be a part of bringing the magic to San Diego State. I can’t wait to go on adventures and explore with all of the campers this year!
Ashelyn “Fuego” Lutrick: My name is Fuego, and I am a third year Microbiology student at San Diego State. When I’m not studying I enjoy going to the beautiful beaches here in San Diego, and one of the main reasons I moved from Phoenix, AZ. A fun fact about me: I won a National Championship with my high school dance team so you bet there will be many dance offs at camp! I have never been to Camp before but can’t wait to experience it for my first time with every one of you!
Darek “Hendrix” Dabadghav: My name is Hendrix, and I’m a third year Spanish and International Studies major here at SDSU. I have attended Camp Kesem for 5 years as a camper at the UC Berkeley chapter, and have also spent 2 years as a counselor there! I like to play guitar and go surfing with friends. It’s always been a dream of mine to have a camp kesem chapter at my own school, so I’m extremely excited to be a part of Kesem at SDSU and have a chance to finally meet some campers!
Joseph “Shamrock” Faria: My name is Shamrock, and I’m a fourth year Kinesiology major at San Diego State. I’m from Los Altos, California, up in the Bay Area. I love my hometown, but I especially love it here in San Diego and sad to graduate in May. I really enjoy sports (watching and playing) and am a huge Bay Area sports fanatic. I’m also just a huge fan of food – Mexican and Italian food being my favorites. This is my first year involved with Camp Kesem, so I’m excited for what the future holds for this organization!
Sydney “Wavy” Steinbeck: Hi, my name is Wavy and I am a second year Biology major at San Diego State University! In my free time I love to go to the beach, eat anything and everything sweet, and hang out with my family and friends! I am so excited to help introduce the magic of Camp Kesem onto our campus and into our community. I cannot wait to meet all of our amazing campers and sing camp songs all camp long!
Kenya “Drizzy” Flores: My name is Drizzy, and I am a third year Foods and Nutrition major with a minor in Child and Family Development at San Diego State University. I have not attended Camp Kesem yet; however, I cannot wait to be apart of the first Camp Kesem that comes to SDSU! I am genuinely excited to be exposed to all of the camp magic we are going to experience and embrace all of the campers and activities we are planning!

Kesem’s national staff of over 30 professionals is involved in all aspects of establishing and supporting each of our 100+ chapters nationwide as well as the training and oversight of all college student leaders. Our leadership program has been developed over the last 17 years and, while both rigorous and demanding, is focused on providing the highest level of support, service and safety for the children who participate in our programs.
The Kesem Program Director for this chapter (see below) is involved in all aspects of camp and our additional services. While your local student leaders are your primary contact for questions, you are also welcome and encouraged to contact their Program Director with other specific questions.
Brittani joined the Camp Kesem National team in 2017 as a Regional Program Director. She first became involved with Camp Kesem in 2012 as a counselor and continued on to become a Development Coordinator and Co-Director. Brittani loved volunteering as a part of Camp Kesem where she was able to apply concepts she had studied in the classroom and make an impact in the community. She graduated from Brigham Young University in 2016 with a Bachelor of Science in Public Health and a minor in Nonprofit Management. She is from Lakeport, California and currently resides in Orem, Utah.
