Meet the Team

Nikki 'Salsa' Edwards: I am looking forward to helping UGA create an amazing week of summer camp and meeting new campers! I love watching new campers join in with our old ones and seeing all the friendships that are created over just a week!

Shona 'Crumpet' Wilson: My favorite Kesem memory is from my first year as a counselor. We finished cabin chat and got into bed, but the girls asked to do their own chat. They continued to ask each other questions and share their stories and it showed me the Kesem magic.

Jordan 'Deep Dish' McGuire: My favorite Kesem memory was watching a family begin to grow with each and every day. I loved how by the end of the week, during closing circle, everyone had their arms around one another and we just couldn't find the words to say goodbye.

Eliza 'Stamps' Meng: For the past two summers, Kesem has shown me what friendship really means. I am my truest self when I am at Camp Kesem all thanks to the amazing campers and counselors surrounding me. I would not be where I am today without every one of them.

Rachel 'Wild' Priest: My favorite Kesem memory was my first year of camp during Empowerment. Even though I barely knew anyone, those around me made me feel so supported and loved.

Alana 'Pluto' Stein: My favorite Kesem memory has been Empowerment. Seeing the kids be able to share their stories inspires me to do what I do and the smiles on their faces throughout the week at camp makes it all worth it.

Catie 'Eggo' Mazurek: I am looking forward to meeting all of the new people involved in this incredible organization and experience even more Kesem magic! I cannot wait to see all of our campers this summer attending another magical week of camp!

Charlie 'Flowerboy' Milliron: Getting to see the pure joy and excitement the kids experience when the enter camp. When you first meet them they are grinning ear to ear and are so excited to be back at their home away from home.

Brooke 'Cleats' Etheridge: My favorite Kesem memory is from cabin chats. One of the questions was, "who is someone who inspires you?" One of my girls said me! One of our other counselors asked why and she goes, "she's super awkward, but she totally owns it." They are honest!

Chase 'Sparty' Kessler: It was my first year of being at camp and I was an orange boys counselor. On the last day, one of my boys came up to me and told me that he was going to miss me and that I was his favorite counselor because I understood him like no one else has.

Lauren 'Pav' Scott: A camper from my first year at camp wrote me sticky notes of her favorite things about me for Empower Hour this past summer and one of them read, "a blessing in my life."

Jessica 'Iris' Hotard: Each year I look forward to seeing campers showcase their talents at the talent show! I am always blown away by their special abilities and courage to perform in front of others.

Andy 'Lieutenant' Kopp: My favorite memory of Camp is empowerment at my first ever week in 2018. I was able to share my story to these kids with a similar one, and in doing so, found a true family. It will be a night I will never forget.

Samantha 'Sweet Tea' Sharpe: My favorite Kesem memory is our nightly singing of the song "Linger." At first, I did not know the words to the song but my little camper knew every word. I can still hear her sweet little voice teaching me the words to this sentimental song.

Camille 'Smalls' Melendez: My favorite Kesem memory is having some of our oldest campers this past summer. I loved seeing them be a big support system for each other, but really enjoyed seeing our whole unit have the best time making friendship bracelets for each other.

Rylan 'Hodor' Shaughnessy: My favorite Kesem memory is always when my camper, Pea Shooter, draws me a picture on the drive to camp because he remembers me and refers to me as his favorite counselors. I now have 3 of his pictures framed in my room from 3 summers with him.

Grace 'Cub' Parsons: My favorite camp memory happened while I was assisting another counselor lead a free select. We were doing dancing and it was the best thing seeing all the campers get so excited and being able to learn the dance with all of them!

Lindsey 'Basil' Neel: My favorite Kesem memory isn't just one memory. It is all those little moments at Camp when I get to see my girls be truly themselves. Their love for each other and Camp Kesem is the definition of camp magic.

Emma 'Peanut' Shearer: This year, I am most looking forward to growing not only the chapter as a whole, but myself as well. I have learned more from Camp Kesem than I have anywhere else in my whole life, and I am so excited to find passionate counselors to serve our kids!
