Meet the Team

Gabriela 'Cher' Aklepi: Each year, Empowerment is my favorite day of Camp Kesem. Watching everyone- campers, counselors, Health and Wellness staff- show each other so much love and appreciation is truly Kesem Magic.

Herveline 'Khaleesi' Saintil: I finally had worked up the courage to get blobbed on the lake and I vividly remember sitting on the blob, eyes closed, staying as still as possible waiting to be catapulted in the air. My form was that of a pencil and I achieved 10/10 belly flop.

Chelsey 'Aqua' Guastucci: My favorite Kesem memory is when a first time camper came up to me and told me that he wanted to be a counselor just like me when he was older. He explained how nervous he was for the week but that once he got there he felt like he was at home.

Sofia 'Bambi' Sneathen: This year, I am looking forward to being a part of capturing the magic that happens at camp!

Cody 'Psych' Kline: My favorite kesem memory is watching my campers run a talk show and DJ at the talent show.

Kate 'Cheese' Elisha: My favorite camp memory is the empowerment ceremony followed by color wars. It is such an amazing and powerful part of camp where we all come together as one family looking back at the week and remembering why Camp is so special to us.

Kathryn 'Smiley' McSoley : It's hard to choose one specific favorite Kesem memory because the whole week of camp was great. I had so much fun being a counselor and loved getting to know all the green girls! The friendships I made over that week won't ever be forgotten.

julia 'mojo-jojo' sirven: I am looking forward to going back to camp!

Kelly 'Squirtle' McLoughlin: My favorite Kesem memory is the morning sunrise walks I take with some campers each year. We get up and go to the lake to watch the sunrise. Each year, different people join, but we are always there together, creating a new familiar memory once again

Christine 'Tigger' Sanchez: My favorite Kesem memory was being invited to a cabin chat while on admin and hearing a shy camper say I inspired them and brought a smile to their face everyday. I cried about it later because I didn't think I had made a connection with her yet.

Bonnie 'Panda' Stright: My favorite Kesem memory is when one of my campers performed as a DJ at the talent show and we all had a huge dance party to cheer him on.

Emily 'Speedy ' Eachus: My favorite Kesem memory is seeing the children's faces when they walk through our arm tunnel on the first day of camp. You can tell that the kids are overjoyed to be going to camp and in that moment you know what a difference Kesem can make.

Victoria 'ZAZU' Cantrelle: My favorite moment from camp was during empowerment because it was the moment where my Kesem friends became my Kesem family.

Cameron 'Surf' Vasfailo: My favorite Kesem memory was being a part of the Green Group's (aka The Cash Money Green Beans) talent show performance where they did a full camp flash mob to the "Cotton Eye Joe"

Alexander 'Coach' Sanjurjo: When a few of us kayaked around the lake and watched all of our friends, one by one, get blobbed into the sky from every angle possible.

Samantha 'Wrigley' Waddell: My favorite Kesem memory is the Empowerment ceremony. One of my campers came running up to me and said "Wow! I had no idea I was so important to people!" Empowerment makes everyone feel special and wanted.
