Charlie “Pickle” Pickell: Hey y’all. I’m originally from Atlanta, Georgia, and I’m a third year here at UVA in the McIntire School of Commerce. However, what I do outside the classroom is what makes this place so great. Camp Kesem blew my expectations out of the water, and genuinely made an impact on my life. It’s safe to say it’s now my favorite organization on Grounds, and I can’t wait to go back next year to lead my little Unit Ones again. Absolute beasts!!

My brother was treated and ultimately saved at the UVA Hospital. Growing up with the lasting effects of being in a family scarred by cancer has largely shaped my life and gravitated me towards amazing organizations like Camp Kesem, where I feel I can make a difference by helping others in their fight with this terrible disease.
