Patrick “Granola” Wilson: Hey guys! My name’s Granola and I am a third year Biology Major. I’m so excited to dive deeper into Kesem this year working alongside the best co-directors out there, Rooster and Sprout! Throughout college, Kesem has been a constant reminder for me of what really matters; embracing my inner-child and no put downs! I’m so looking forward to the new year filled with many messy activities, gaga ball games and cabin chats to come. TAKE ME TO CAMP!!
Kelsey “Sprout” LaChance: Hi dudes!! My name’s Sprout and I’m a fourth year Mechanical Engineering major. I’m so stoked to be a part of committee again this year since Kesem has shaped me in unexpected ways and has become my favorite part of my UCLA experience. Camp is the best week of the year, with daily rock ‘n roll breakfasts & nightly cabin chats. I’m so honored to be a co-director this year with Rooster and Granola! I can’t wait for another year of Kesem magic and to give back to this incredible organization.
Mairead “Rooster” Ahlbach: Hi! I’m Rooster, and I’m a 4th year studying Political Science & IDS. This is my 4th year in Kesem and my 2nd year as a director. This year, I have the pleasure of working with Granola and Sprout, and I couldn’t be more grateful to be part of such an incredible team. Kesem is my absolute favorite place in the world, and I can’t wait for another beautiful summer full of new friends, rock’n’roll breakfasts, stargazing, and setting another record for “quickest to fall off the wipeout course!” MKL!
Taylor “Scooter” Lee: What’s Good! I’m Scooter and this will be my 3rd year at UCLA! Last year’s camp was one of the best weeks of my life, and one of the biggest reasons I joined committee was so that I could have TWO MORE weeks of camp this year (that means I get TWO black light dance parties!) Outside of camp you can find me taking pictures of cool places, hooping on a basketball court, or hanging out with great company! Looking forward to an awesome year with Kesem!
Elizabeth “Piccadilly” Lipshutz: Hi!! I’m Piccadilly and I am a fourth year psychology major. This is my second year in Kesem and I am so stoked/ humbled to be on committee as one of the development coordinators. I left my first week of Kesem amazed by the campers, the organization, and the sense of home I felt after such a short period of time. I cannot wait to experience more of the Kesem magic this year and make camp the best it can be along with Chickpea and the rest of committee! All the warm and fuzzies, Pic
Katherine “Chickpea” Reckamp: Hey, what’s up, hello! Chickpea here! I’m a junior here at UCLA and am sooo stoked to not only participate in my 3rd year of Kesem, but also my first year on committee as a development co-coord! Kesem has shaped my college years more than any other club or organization and I am so excited to give back even a fraction of what it’s given me. I can’t wait for another year full of more warm n’ fuzzies with some of the best people I know!
Isabel “Chaco” Havens: Hello! I’m an International Development Studies major going into my senior year (eep!). This is my 2nd year in Kesem, but it is by far the best community I’ve found on campus and I’m so grateful to be working with all of these amazing pillaz. This year I’m working with Cookie to organize our largest fundraising event, Make the Magic. I can’t wait for summer to come so I can dance at the blacklight dance party, be covered in shaving cream during messy games, and end each day with a cabin chat!
Rebecca “Cookie” Kianmahd: Hi Hi! I’m Cookie – a 3rd year Psychology major, minoring in Disability Studies. This is my 3rd year as a Kesem counselor, but my 8th year in the Kesem family. Formerly a camper, then CIT and now counselor, I am unbelievably excited and humbled to bring my experience full circle on committee and to make this magical camp possible for the most deserving kids. I can’t wait to plan Make the Magic this year with my incredible co, Chaco, and I’m even more excited to dance and sing at camp soon!
Leah “Bumblebee” Bercovitch: Hey everyone! My name is Bumblebee and I am a fourth year at UCLA and proud to say I am going into my fourth year of Kesem as well! I am studying Psychology and Society and Genetics. Kesem has been the cornerstone of my college experience so I am excited to come back this year as the Operations Coordinator again and bring our programming to the next level with my co Corky. Each summer has somehow been more magical than the last and I have nothing but great expectations for this year.
Ryan “Corky” Gehris: Whaazup, It’s Corky! I’m a 4th year Psychobiology major at UCLA, 3rd year Camp Kesem Counselor, and 1st year committee member. Kesem has been an incredible experience, and I’m stoked to start working with Bumble to help make this year yet another magical one at camp. Outside of living the Kesem life, I can be found bugging other pillas to go to the beach, play sports, or just keep me entertained. I’ll be trying to keep my life full of fun until the real excitement kicks off this summer at camp!
Natalia “Piggles” Dudek: Hello hello! My name is Piggles and I am a fourth year at UCLA as well as a fourth year counselor! This is my first year on Kesem Committee and I am SO so excited for this year! My Kesem journey began my freshman year, and it has undoubtedly been the best part of my college experience. I can not wait to see all the amazing work we do this year and am so excited for another ~magical~ year of Kesem!
Bailie “Bien” Rapaport: Hello! My name is Bien and I am so excited to be on committee this year! I am a 4th year Biochemistry major and I am so lucky to say that this is also my 4th year in Kesem. I absolutely love rock-n-roll breakfasts, cabin chats, losing in gaga ball, and getting to know the campers and their families. If I’m not at Kesem, catch me attempting to ice skate and eating ice cream
Kesem has truly stolen my heart and I’m so thankful to have the opportunity to work with Bam Bam and Boop as Outreach!
Emma “Boop” Schumaker: Hi! I’m Boop and I’m a 3rd year Comm major! It’s my 2nd year in Kesem, but I feel like I’ve been part of this family much longer. It’s hard to articulate how much Kesem impacted me, but all I know is that I’m a better person because I’m constantly surrounded by such wonderful, inspiring peeps & kiddos! Kesem is unlike anything else and I’m stoked to watch this organization grow (and make more friendship bracelets)! I’m grateful to be an outreach coordinators this year with Bien and BamBam. MKL!
Simon “BamBam” Hirschfield: What’s up! I’m BamBam and it’s my 3rd year in Kesem! Joining this group is hands down one of the best things that has ever happened to me. Kesem has some of the most inspiring people I’ve worked with, campers and counselors alike, and I can’t wait to work alongside all these people to make camp amazing this year. When I’m not working with Kesem, you can find me at the beach, adventuring in nature, or listening to some sweet tunes trying to play on the guitar. MKL pillaz!
Jake “Squanch” Marshall: Heyo! I’m Squanch and I’m a 2nd year studying Applied Math/Cognitive Science! I’m so stoked to be Treasurer and work with some of my favorite people! In my freetime I’m riding waves in the Pacific, freediving, strumming a guitar, reading, or spending time with my buddies/family. Even after hearing all the Kesem hype during my 1st year, I was completely blown away by the strength of the campers and the Kesem magic! I’m so grateful to give back to Kesem. Looking forward to the years to come!
Scott “Poncho” Manis: Hey everybody! My name is Poncho, and I’m a fourth year majoring in Geography and Environmental Studies. I’m going into my third year in Kesem and I’m so stoked to be Volunteer Coordinator this year alongside Ketchup. Camp Kesem has by far been the best part of my college experience and I am so grateful to be part of such an incredible organization. Can’t wait for another awesome year at camp full of songs, eating challenges, and a whole lotta magic! Much Kesem Love, Poncho.
Callaghan “Ketchup” Kennedy: Hey y’all! My name’s Ketchup and I’m honored/excited to be going into my fourth year in Kesem. I can’t wait to start this epic year off as Volunteer Coordinator with Poncho and the other extraordinary members of committee. Camp Kesem has hands-down been the best thing I have done throughout my college experience. Through silly things like camp songs, messy activities, and Rock-n-Roll Breakfast, our amazing campers have taught me more than I could have ever imagined. Gotta love that Kesem magic!

A Sacramento native, she made the jump to SoCal to attend UCLA, where is was involved with Kesem all four years. She graduated with a degree in Sociology and Education, and a passion for working with children. Even though she misses her dog back in Sacramento, she loves living in LA.
