Emily “Sandy” Rumsey: I’m Sandy and I’m a current Junior at the University of Colorado, Boulder majoring in International Affairs and Journalism with a Chinese minor. While born in Texas, I’ve called Colorado my home for 8 years. I joined Kesem my freshman year alongside my best friend and have loved it ever since. I was named after my love for the beach, although I am afraid of going in the water.
Conner “Doc” Driver: I’m Doc and I love to play the guitar and sing. Only been a part of camp for one year, but I’m completely hooked. Check out my band Maddie’s Changed on Spotify
Rylee “Treble” MacLean: Hey, I’m Treble! A music geek since birth, you can probably find me playing guitar around a campfire with friends or listening to live music at local cafes. I’m a certified yoga instructor and lover of all things nature related, and I’m happiest when barefoot. Proud proponent of the motto “Camp self, best self”.
Zoë “Quokka” McKinney: Hi, I’m Quokka! Although I have been in CO for 3 years, I still get, “ohhh, you’re from Minnesoooota” on the daily basis. Can’t complain though, it one of the best states. The quokka is my spirit animal and I encourage all of you to look it up if you want instant joy.
Presley “Ivory” Coonts: I’m Ivory and I got my name from my love of playing the piano! I’m a sophomore from Denver and I’m so happy that I found my Kesem family here in Boulder! My first camp this past summer got me hooked on the Kesem magic and I’m ready to take on this responsibility!
Ann Marie “Sully” O’Sullivan: I’m Sully and I am a sophomore at CU studying Business Management. I am from Chicago and I love to go skiing, travel, and eat! I joined Kesem freshman year and fell in love it. Camp Kesem has already taught me so much and is truly amazing! My favorite part in camp is paint wars because it brings everyone together and the kids love it!
Rafael “Houdini” Orozco is just your standard college student. When he’s not, unsuccessfully, reading people’s minds, he’s often blowing their minds instead. Nothing gives him a greater joy than showing kids, and sometimes adults, that the impossible is actually possible.
Kaitlin “Prez” James: Hi I’m Prez! Although my camp name suggests I like politics, I actually plan on being a Physicians Assistant! I am very active in my sorority but Kesem is an organization unlike any other. These kids inspire me everyday and I could not be happier that I joined this organization!
Georgia “Peaches” Reis: Hi, I’m Peaches! I’m a junior studying IPHY and have always called Colorado home! My older brother (14er) got me into Kesem my freshman year and I could not be happier he did!
Taylor “Anchor” Peterson: I’m Anchor, and it’s my third year in Camp Kesem. Being able to be a part of this organization has been such an incredible addition to my life, and has helped reaffirm my passion for my studies and future career in the healthcare industry.
Caley “Plato” Halloran: Hey I’m Plato and my name comes from my love of philosophy. I love deep conversations, yoga, vegan snacks, my hot pink Birks, fanny packs, actively avoiding anything cardio-related, and the incredible family I found in Camp Kesem!
Kelly “Noodles” Lenneman: Hi I’m Noodles and I have been told by my fellow yellow counselors that my biggest strength is getting knots out of anything and everything. I’m a senior studying to become a PA and couldn’t be more grateful to be a part of this amazing family!
Kaycie “Ember” Shubert: Hey I’m Ember and I love traveling, my sorority, everything outdoors, but most importantly, Kesem! I never imagined that these kids would have such a large impact on my life and motivate me in my studies to become a nurse everyday!
James “Scooby” Scheurer: I’m Scooby and I’m born and raised in the Midwest still confuses mountains with hills. Hobbies include long walks on the beach, CrossFit, and drinking La Croix.
Indya “Pitbull” Markovic: I’m Pitbull and I can’t see a dog walking and not pet it, hence my name. I’m trading the lights in Vegas for the mountains in Colorado and I absolutely love it!
