Hannah 'Peach' Wright: I love cabin chats. There's magic in the way that we form a circle at the end of a long day and share our "put-ups", kudos or sharing something good they did that day! It's such an amazing way to wind down with all the warm and fuzzies.
Tanooha 'Violet' Veeramachaneni: Favorite Memory: our Surprise glow party after Empowerment Ceremony
Looking forward to: growing our Kesem family so that more great kids can experience the Kesem magic at camp and throughout the year and also making more unforgettable memories
Harishvar 'Flash' Ganesh: My favorite Kesem memory was the game changing moment where I realized how comfortable the campers got in front of the camera. On the first day of camp, the campers were really shy, but once the Kesem magic kicked in, they were so natural and happy!
Lauren 'Chickpea' Lee: I'm looking forward to growing our chapter within the Houston community! I can't wait for our family to grow in size and get bigger and better!!
Abegail 'Mango' Caducoy: Spring FFD
Nili 'Pumpkin' Patel: I'm looking forward to getting to know and spending time with everyone who is committed to the amazing cause that is Kesem! Working together, I know we're going to have a great year!
Sanjana 'Mufasa' Ayyagari: My favorite Kesem memory is the camp talent show when all our campers participated in various acts together because they had become so comfortable with the environment our Kesem family had created.
Quynh 'Luna' Le: After Empowerment at camp, I was finally able to see what the Kesem Magic is all about and the impact it can have on people in such a short amount of time. I can’t wait to make more amazing memories with my Kesem Family this year!
Yashwant 'Nutella' Harkara: A camper was crying one night because he missed his parents, so I was trying to console him. Then, our youngest camper came and asked me to give the crying camper his snack. When I asked if he was sure, he said "yeah he needs it more than i do".
Brenna 'Dot' Chan: My favorite memory from camp this past summer was surprising our campers with a glow-in-the-dark dance party!
Jessica 'Mochi' Tran: I am looking forward to expanding our outreach and meeting all our new families!
Sharon 'Sprinkles' John: One of the campers, Bacon ran to give me a hug and she was so excited as she pulled out a colorful portrait that she drew of me. It hangs in my room, and every time I look at it, it brings a sense of warmth, happiness, and Kesem magic :)
Surya 'Spidey ' Chinamuthevi: My favorite memory would definitely be my first friends and family day! I spent a majority of my time with older kids and as the day progressed, it was awesome to see how their appreciation for Kesem grew and how much they truly bonded with all of us
Vivian 'Dimples ' Pham: My favorite Kesem memory would have to be the time at Camp when we were just trying to kill time between the activities and we deduced to host a karaoke contest, and one of my most shy campers went on stage and sang.
In addition to the year-round support, services, and training we receive from Kesem National,
we are grateful to those who provide support to our local Camp Kesem chapter including:

The many retail and service providers who offer in-kind support for our summer camp as well as many or our year-round services.
Countless individuals – including our families and friends who honor our commitment to Camp Kesem with their financial support and unwavering encouragement.
Kesem’s national staff of over 30 professionals is involved in all aspects of establishing and supporting each of our 100+ chapters nationwide as well as the training and oversight of all college student leaders. Our leadership program has been developed over the last 17 years and, while both rigorous and demanding, is focused on providing the highest level of support, service and safety for the children who participate in our programs.
The Kesem Program Director for this chapter (see below) is involved in all aspects of camp and our additional services. While your local student leaders are your primary contact for questions, you are also welcome and encouraged to contact their Program Director with other specific questions.
Kirsten first got involved with Camp Kesem during her undergraduate career at Northern Arizona University as a Marketing/PR Coordinator for two years. After she graduated, she went to Arizona State University for her Masters in Social Work and worked within the behavioral health/criminal justice system. Her passion to work with families impacted by cancer never faded and she was thrilled to return to the Camp Kesem team as a Regional Program Director in 2018.
