Sahila “Coco” Qureshi: Hey!!! My name is Coco and I am from Ashburn, VA. I am a senior here at VCU and majoring in Health Science while minoring in Chemistry and Psychology. This is my 3rd year being a part of Kesem, and every year it continues to get better! My favorite part of Kesem is seeing the children express themselves freely! -Coco
Ashley “Panda” Day: Hey! My name is Panda from Norfolk, VA. I am a Senior here at VCU majoring in Science with a concentration in Chemistry and a minor in Psychology on the Pre-Pharmacy Track. This coming year will be my 4th year at camp and every year, even though I know that it is possible through the magic of Kesem, I am amazed how everyone shows up to camp strangers, yet leaves as a family. -Panda
Otis “Titan” Jones: Hey! My name is Titan and I am a sophomore from Richmond, VA majoring in Marketing. This will be my second year with Camp Kesem and my favorite part of camp is 100% Water Wars. It’s hard to pick just once camp song but HEY BURRITO is one of my favorite. -Titan
Lauryn “Hoops” White: Hello! My name is Hoops and I’m from Alexandria, VA. I’m a junior majoring in Marketing and completing my certificate in product innovation in the Da Vinci center at VCU. This is my first year participating in Camp Kesem. I am very excited to work with other counselors and help the chapter grow! -Hoops
Rebecca “Nala” Alemu: Hello My name is Nala and I am sophomore studying Biology and I’m from Springfield, Virginia. I am super excited to help plan this year’s MTM. My favorite memory CK was seeing all the kids faces of pure happiness during color and water wars -Nala
Aleonna “Bean” Scott: Hello! My name is Bean and I am a junior Forensic Chemistry major from Bowie, MD. This is my third year in Camp Kesem at VCU and my second year as a Make the Magic coordinator. My favorite part of CK is definitely watching the campers and counselors grow as people and embrace the Kesem spirit (and camp songs of course). I can’t wait to see what this year holds! -Bean
Stephanie “Cheerio” Vu: Hey! My name is Cheerio and I’m from Clifton, VA. I’m a junior majoring in HPEX health science at VCU. I’ve been apart of Camp Kesem for __ years. My favorite camp song is Razzle Dazzle and my favorite part about camp is cabin chats and singing camp songs. -Cheerio
Polina “PoPo” Bukina: Hi I’m PoPo and I am from Richmond, VA. I’m a sophomore Biology major with a Spanish and Chemistry minor. One of my favorite things about camp is Messy Games because it allows everyone to let loose and go crazy with paint and shaving cream

Madeleine “Ice Queen” Nguyen: Hi! My name is Ice Queen and I am from Mclean, VA. I’m a junior studying Health, Physical Education and Exercise on the Pre-Physical Therapy Track. My favorite camp memory is playing gaga ball and nine-square during free selects and before meals. My favorite song is the Tiki Tonga song (ALLLEEEEE!!!) and I am looking forward to seeing returning campers at Friends and Family Day and more messy games this summer! -Ice Queen
Julia “Nugget” Grant: Hi! My name is Nugget, and I am a sophomore majoring in Biology on the Pre-Medicine track at VCU. My favorite camp memory is definitely water games from last summer, and my favorite camp song is Razzle Dazzle. I am so excited to get to know new and returning campers even better this summer, and am already counting down the days
Sravan “King Curry” Sattiraju: Hello, I’m King Curry and I am from Loudoun County, VA. I’m a junior at VCU studying Professional Science on a pre-med track. I’m truly excited to be working with all of the Camp Kesem families! A little about myself, I love watching / playing sports, hiking, watching tv, reading and hanging out with friends! -King Curry

Philomena “Peppa Pig” Hughes: Hi guys! I’m Peppa Pig and I’m from Woodbridge, VA. I’m a junior at VCU and I’m majoring in Political Science. In addition to that, I’m also minoring in Homeland Security and Emergency Preparedness as well as Media Studies. I’ve been a part of Camp Kesem for three years and I don’t think I could love it any more than I already do. My favorite part of Kesem is getting to be myself with all of the people I love. -Peppa Pig

Kesem’s national staff of over 30 professionals is involved in all aspects of establishing and supporting each of our 100+ chapters nationwide as well as the training and oversight of all college student leaders. Our leadership program has been developed over the last 17 years and, while both rigorous and demanding, is focused on providing the highest level of support, service and safety for the children who participate in our programs.
The Kesem Program Director for this chapter (see below) is involved in all aspects of camp and our additional services. While your local student leaders are your primary contact for questions, you are also welcome and encouraged to contact their Program Director with other specific questions.
Hannah joined the Camp Kesem National team as a Regional Program Director in April 2019. She first fell in love with the organization while attending University of Nebraska-Lincoln, where she served as an Alumni, Marketing, and PR Coordinator for one year and Co-Director for two. During her time as a student she also served as a Camp Advisor, Camp Prep Volunteer, Funder Prospect Research Intern and on the National Student Panel. She will graduate in May from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln with a Bachelor of Journalism in Advertising and Public Relations. From Omaha, Nebraska, she will reside in Chicago, Illinois, and can often be found enjoying the outdoors, drinking coffee or exploring new breakfast restaurants.
