Hi, my name is Hop, and I’m from Wheaton, Illinois. As a freshman in high school, I was fortunate enough to attend the Chicago Magic Ball. This event was nothing short of spectacular, and I realized, no matter what school I decided to attend, that I needed to get involved. I Kesem because there’s nothing more important to me than bettering the lives of those who need it the most; and what better way to do it than by having a week of fun with some of the bravest children in the country!
Hi, I’m Captain G, and I’m from Glencoe, Illinois. I love watching sports, playing fantasy football, and playing with my dog. Kesem is an amazing organization that fills a massive need for people who are forgotten. I am proud to be part of a group of people who care so much about kids who have had so much to persevere through early in their life.u
Hi, I’m Matcha from Englewood Cliffs, NJ majoring in Anthropology and Biology. My passion behind Kesem stems from anecdotes from other Kesem chapters, the impact that we can make as a Kesem family, and my lifelong goal for community engagement. Specifically, I truly value a community is built on meaningful relationships and experiences. I’m super excited about bringing Camp Kesem and working towards a sustainable change in St. Louis!
Hi! My name is Pocky, and I’m from Cape Elizabeth, Maine. I love baking cakes and cookies for all types of events because I have a huge sweet tooth and think desserts bring people together. I love Kesem because we are making a clear difference in the lives of children who have not always had the easiest childhoods. Going to camp for so many years, I know how summer camp can not only be the best part of summer but can also be a lifelong memory.
Hi, I’m Maddog from Northbrook, IL. Cancer has afflicted many people close to me, and I want to help people who also have had to deal with it. I babysit kids whose father had cancer, and seeing how they felt every day made me really upset. However, I enjoyed spending time with them to help them escape from reality and have a good time. I want to be able to do the same for other kids whose parents have been diagnosed with cancer. My fun fact is that I played tennis in the Maccabi Games in Israel!
Hi, I’m Sizz, and I’m from Northern Virginia. I’m a sophomore majoring in marketing and minoring in business of sports. I love volleyball, eating sweets, laughing, and working out. I’m excited to join Kesem!
Hi, I’m Pelé! The first summer after my dad’s diagnosis with stage IV glioblastoma in 2006, I attended Camp Kesem, and it immediately changed my life. Throughout his battle and after his death, Camp Kesem was something that I could always look forward to and find strength in. I want to create a camp that brings people together and makes them feel like they belong and are understood. I also want to help give the kids fun and long lasting memories and help them experience the true magic of Kesem.
Hi, I’m Dino, and I’m from Coolin, ID. I’m majoring in Systems Engineering and Operations and Supply Chain Management. A fun fact about me is I lived overseas in France and China for 6 years as a kid!
Hi, I’m Cashew from Chesterland, Ohio. I’m majoring in biology and ancient studies with a minor in anthropology. I love crafting, finding new music, eating, pretending like I know how to play tennis! Kids affected by a parent’s cancer deserve a place where they can have fun and be understood in a supportive community of friends, and Kesem is that place! My fun fact is that I have a lot more siblings than the average person.
Hi! I’m Mochi from Sunnyvale, CA. I love Disney, singing, puzzles, and volunteering. I had the wonderful opportunity of being a camper at Camp Kesem at Stanford for seven years after I lost my father to cancer when I was seven where I’ve witnessed the amazing magic and transformational ability of Kesem. My counselors and fellow campers inspired me and helped me become the person I am today, and I want to bring that compassion and love to kids who are just like me.
i! I’m Yogi and I’m from Minneapolis, MN studying economics and finance with a minor in french. I love teaching yoga, baking, playing guitar, and watching football. I love being a part of Camp Kesem for two reasons: 1) It is such an impactful organization that serves a community of people that are often forgotten in the battle against cancer. 2) It is almost completely college-student run.
Hi! I’m Carrot from Ft. Lauderdale, FL. I’m a sophomore majoring in marketing and operations and supply chain management. I love backpacking, art/coloring, cooking, eating, anything outside, and playing with dogs. My fun fact is that I have lived out of a backpack in the wilderness for 30 days. I’m really excited to join Kesem!
Hi, I’m Bean Sprout from Coral Springs, Florida. I love exploring new restaurants, working out, cooking, and dancing. Having attended a summer camp for children and families of children with life-threatening illnesses, I understand how Camp Kesem can make an impact on these children and give them a sense of normalcy during this time. I want to enjoy a week of fun with these deserving children!! My fun fact is that I broke my left tibia three times.
